My stay at the hotel was a mix of positives and negatives. While the rooms were very basic and on the small side, lacking some standard amenities like a safe or in-room coffee, the hotel's service and location made up for it. The historical feel of the building added to its charm, even though navigating the steep narrow steps could be a safety concern in case of an emergency. The friendly and helpful service made me feel welcome and well taken care of, although the price could have been a bit more budget-friendly. The location near the port of Cherbourg was convenient, offering a glimpse of local life with street fairs and live music, but the proximity to the ferry terminal meant the area could get a bit crowded at times.
